Pioneer PotterNavi: a 3G bike GPS that encourages you to meander
Wednesday, October 26th, 2011
A GPS that encourages meandering won’t be the dish of the day (month, or year) for hypermilers, but might do well in the slightly more genteel world of cycling. Pioneer’s PotterNavi sits on the handlebars of your velocipede and can let you decide between straight or scenic routes…

The New York Times Slaps The Huffington Post With A Cease-And-Desist For Its Terribly Named Parenting Blog (NYT, AOL)
Tuesday, October 25th, 2011
Lisa Belkin recently left The New York Times — where she wrote the much-loved “Motherlode” blog — for the Huffington Post, where she launched the “Parentlode” blog. Hmmm, those sound mighty similar. So similar, in fact, that the Times sent a cease-and-desist to the Huffington Post, WWD reports…
You can help Amit to defeat Leukemia
Tuesday, October 25th, 2011
Amit is one of those special people who came forward to help us when we were getting ready to launch CurdBee few years back. We just dropped him a mail inviting him to check CurdBee and share his thoughts, possible improvements we can do, etc. But we never thought he would even have time left in his schedule to pay attention to us, we being total strangers. But he did and replied back within matter of hours.

Today we think its our turn to help this wonderful entrepreneur, who’s fighting against Leukemia and is looking for a bone marrow doner from South Asian descent. If you are one of them who’s living in US, you can surely help Amit. Not a South Asian descent living in US? Still you can spread the word and we salute all those efforts.
Tony Bacigalupo wrote a detailed post about Amit and here’s an excerpt,
” Amit is the founder of the endlessly wonderful DIY photography site Photojojo. He’s the cofounder of Jelly, a casual coworking community which started in New York in 2006 and spread to over 60 cities worldwide, acting as the starting point for countless coworking communities. The original Jelly in New York was my first coworking experience, and my firsthand inspiration to dedicate myself to what would become New Work City.
Amit has leukemia. He was diagnosed only two weeks ago, but already so much has happened. He’s undergoing chemotherapy now at Connecticut’s Smilow Cancer Center in Yale-New Haven Hospital, near his family.”

Tattoo Artist wanted (Chicago)
Monday, October 24th, 2011Are you an experienced tattoo artist? Do you have what it takes to accept that tattooing is a job? We are looking for a full time tattoo artist. This position is only open for one tattoo artist that has the time under the needle to realize that making a living plying your trade is more important than being a rock star at the bar. Have you been tattooing for more than a minute? Do your peers think you have the talent to survive? Do you have the ability to turn out fantastic art at the drop of the pencil? Can you enjoy tattooing an awesome piece that takes four hours and immediately get up and tattoo a name on a foot? Do you realize that walk-ins pay the rent? Are you willing to work hard? Can you get along in a high energy large establishment? Do you play well with others? Are you willing to kiss the customers ass to make them happy?
You must have a STRONG portfolio that is universally accepted that you are good. If you just finished your apprenticeship or have been dying to get out of the shithole that has no clients, stop reading this. Keep learning and call me in a few years. This position is for a ready to work artist that wants to improve his life, not a beginner that wants to start one.
If you have had enough of doing great tattoos with little reward, I have a spot for you. I feel we are one of the busiest studios in Chicago and working here is just that; work. IF you think you can handle making the money that great artists deserve, contact me. Be prepared to back it up with a great portfolio and a clean look and attitude.
I want to fill this position NOW! Don’t wait and think about it or you will miss out. 8/15/2011

Inspiration from Packages & Bottles Design
Saturday, October 22nd, 2011
I have to admit that I’m a package lover and that I also believe that packaging is an art, the art of designing a beautiful “protection” for a product. I really like to browse packages and pay attention to details like typography, color schemes, materials and other small choices that surround this item. The process of creating a package/label demands creativity and talent, the talent to get customers attention. It’s pretty amazing how many beautiful combinations we can find in packages and labels to inspire us in other projects, from nice and clean layouts to textures and typefaces, the right packaging can be really eye candy and inspiring.
All the examples showcased here are from the beautiful Lovely Package website, so if you want to know more about each package and its designer, click on the image and visit the site. Enjoy!
